We welcome anyone who shares our interests to join the society. You can find details in the frequently asked questions guide to the right. To complete your application, fill it out and mail it to us along with your dues payment. You will be notified as soon as we can process it. All members (and yes, non-members) are invited to attend our monthly meetings.

- Do I have to live in Boone County?
- Not at all! We have members in half a dozen states scattered across the entire United States. Our society is for anyone who shares our interest, no matter their physical location.
- What are my obligations as a member?
- To enjoy your membership! We offer you a chance to enjoy talking with your fellow genealogists and a chance to find out more about the Boone County area. Oh, and there are other benefits...
- What benefits do I receive?
- BCGS Members receive 20% off of all BCGS products. We publish a quarterly newsletter. It is filled with local chapter news, program schedules, upcoming genealogical news, and history tidbits-- and it is mailed to all members. You also get a chance to be listed as a member on our website, so you can let others know of your presence and the surnames you are interested in.
- How much does it cost?
- Dues are $15.00 per year for one person, or $20.00 per year if you want to include your household. Corporate membership dues are $50 per year.
- How do I join?
- Print out the application and mail it to us with your payment. That's it!
