History of Boone CountyBoone County was formed in 1869 by taking some of the eastern part of Carroll County and Madison County. Six years later, a portion of the western side of Marion County was added to make present -day Boone County. Boone County is located in Northwest Arkansas in the Ozark Mountains. Our county seat is Harrison. Surrounding communities and townships include Bellefonte, Valley Springs, Gaither, Bergman, Lead Hill, Diamond City, Omaha, Burlington, Ridgeway, Bear Creek Springs, Alpena, Iron Stob Chapel, Huzzah, Myrtle, Capps, Batavia, Zinc, Harmon, Olvey, Everton, Crooked Creek, Francis, Rally Hill,Oregon or Oregon Flat, Elixir, and Enon. |
